Berkeley Sprint Triathlon & Clevedon Swimrun!

Berkeley was a really, really friendly event. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to have a go!

Tiny outdoor pool, didn't get lost on the bike route and legs felt better than last time on the 5k (and I wasn't last!).

Early start again but not as early as Westonbirt so not ridiculous. The weather was perfect - it stayed dry and just got a bit warm during the run, which was through lovely countryside.

The Clevedon Swimrun was probably the most exhausting thing I have ever had a go at (including a Marathon)! I though it was going to be quite easy because the run was only 6k. But the tidal pool was 250m across and the coastal route run was really steep in places. Having a swimrun wetsuit on helped to keep me afloat in the swims and I had a pull-buoy strapped to my leg too. Drilled holes in my old trainers the night before for drainage and that seemed to work quite well. The race started with a short run down the promenade, across the 250m pool, up the coast path to loop back round, back through the pool, along the promenade back to the band-stand and then another lap! Would definitely do it again! The weather was lovely - not too hot to run in and not too cold to swim. Parking was easy and it was a really lovely day.
